I wanted to write this post just to express how I have been feeling lately. Think of this as a personal diary post.
To be quite honest the past couple of weeks I have been feeling so down. Feelings or situations I thought I had overcame have appeared again and I feel like it has been a setback.
When you go through setbacks or hardships, it can really do a number on your confidence and self-worth. You gotta get back up and keep pushing yourself to be who you want to be and where you want to be.
I had a great conversation about setbacks with my good friend Calyssa, the photographer behind these photos. We talked about the hard truths and hardships we have faced as we have been navigating the tremulous waters of being an adult. These hard experiences at first really break you but learning to overcome them and be at peace with that has happened is how you become resilient. It’s ok to go through emotions and feel as if you are experiencing a setback. Do not be so hard on yourself. As Cardi B would say: “Knock me down nine times but I get up TEN.”
Do what makes you happy, express your emotions, have an outlet. Blogging and telling a story with my photos makes me feel powerful so I wanted to share these on a day when I wasn’t feeling 100%. You have no idea how much blogging has helped me overcome situations and emotional events in my life.
